Emergency Bypass Keys

Do you know where yours are?
Do you know how to use them?
Do you know where you should keep them?

If you have a Home Elevator, Porch Lift or Vertical Platform Lift you should have an emergency door bypass key or tool for the entrance doors. This key should be kept in a safe location outside the shaft way of your home elevator or lift where a trained, competent person has access to them.

Your owner’s manual will have instructions on how to use these keys. They should only to be used if your elevator or lift has stopped working and emergency response needs to open door to help someone out. If an Emergency Bypass Key is not readily available and instead emergency response needs to pry the door open, this can be a very costly repair for the home owner.

Please find a safe secure location outside of the shaft way/host way to keep your Emergency Door Bypass key!
